VALORANT Champions 2025: a confident start for Paper Rex and a sensation from GIANTX on the first day of the tournament

The first day of the tournament brought viewers both a confident victory for the favorites and a real sensation in the final match of the day.

The tournament opened with a match between the Asian team Paper Rex and the Chinese team XLG Esports. Paper Rex had no problems dealing with their opponent, dominating on both maps. Paper Rex confidently closed the series with a score of 2:0, demonstrating excellent team play and individual skill.

The main event of the day was the final encounter between the European team GIANTX and the North American team Sentinels. It seemed that the favorites from Sentinels confidently started the series by taking the first map. However, GIANTX, after losing the first map, managed to regroup and showed incredible play on the next two maps. Showing character and smart adaptation, the Europeans secured a victory with a score of 2:1, achieving the first upset of the tournament.
