100 Thieves finalize roster by signing device

The 100 Thieves organization has officially signed AWPer Nicolai "device" Reedtz, putting the final touch on the formation of their new Counter-Strike roster.

Before that, the club had already unveiled young players Alex "poiii" Nyholm Sundgren, André "Ag1l" Gil and William "sirah" Kjærsgaard, thereby confirming the HLTV.org report that appeared back in December.

For device, this is a reunion with his former Astralis teammate and now 100 Thieves head coach Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander. Together in Astralis they dominated the scene in 2017–2020 and won four Major tournaments.

The 100 Thieves management considered the option of buying out an already established core with an existing VRS rating, for example the core of GamerLegion, but ultimately chose a riskier path — to build a team from scratch and raise it in the rankings on their own.

The new lineup is built around a mix of experience and youth: promising players sirah and poiii will play alongside scene veterans Håvard "rain" Nygaard and device. The Dane remains one of the most decorated players in history, a nine-time member of the HLTV Top 20 and a four-time Major champion, although his individual numbers declined after a rough spell in Astralis.
